I Live! is a reference to the movie "Prince of Darkness" directed by John Carpenter in 1987. In this film, the devil is coming back to earth through various mediums, especially through computer writing. Indeed, in a scene of the movie, a text (very similar to concrete poetry or conceptual poetry) is self-writing by the repetition of words on a computer screen. This autopoïetic text processes with these words: "I live! I live! I live! I live! I live! I live!..." then "In fact, YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED!" We know the interest of Carpenter - as a pure Hollywoodian director - for language, contamination, and virus existing inside the capitalist US system; here, in this movie, contamination comes through the image of the devil and the all-powerful Anti-God.

The public sign proposed for Counterpublics / Soft Protocols contains this curious visual "poetry". The graphic and color identities respect partially the scene with the computer screen of the Carpenter's movie. The font used for the sign is PT Sans Caption: it is based on Russian sans serif types of the second part of the 20th century. The sign is placed in Athens in front of a church that has now disappeared. Finally, the identity of the subject "I" is questioned: is it a personification of evil? Or a totally anonymous subject lost in a soft space and its indecisive and incomplete form in Athens? Or a machinic subjectivization?

Ce texte autopoiétique dit  : « I live! I live! I live! I live! I live! I live! I live! I live! ... » puis "In fact, YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED!"
